This head was actually given to me by my faceoff coach in highschool. {Didn't take faceoffs in highschool... go figure}. His name is Hutch, I'm not sure why, but that's what I call it. On that note, if you claim that it's weird to name your lacrosse sticks and you've never ever done it before, you're lying to yourself. It's one of those "'weird things lacrosse players do that is actually pretty cool.'" It's prettty heavy and it has got teeth going down the side, which is almost the most awesome thing I've ever seen on a lacrosse head. Not sure what to do with this one, it's in good condition but I don't wanna sell it because of sentimental value. Can't play with it because it's not college legal. Can't do much else with it because lacrosse heads can only be used for so many things. Regardless, here it is. Thanks for readin'.

Another Golden Gate spinoff attempt
My black oldschool Warrior Piranha head. I strung it up with some red mesh and tried this thing called a "Golden Gate Topstring". Honestly, I cannot tell you benefits of the golden gate that are better than any other unconventional way to string topstrings. I noticed a little bit less 'lipping' with this way than the other styles I've tried. But what I like most about the way this looks is how fancy it looks. It's prettymuch all that matters in lacrosse, the fanciest player on the field wins. It's science.

My teammates
From left to right: White OG Edge head; Chrome Silver Proton Power. Both have mid pockets, lots of hold, and a little bit of whip. The Edge barely whips at all.
Strung these for a couple guys on the team, Evan and Scott. I took these with me during an underway because I knew I'd have a week out to sea to get the mesh broken in and work the pockets until they were exactly how I wanted them to be. Turned out to be a good idea, I was able to keep my mind off of the typical underway nonsense. Sheesh... life out at sea can be rough at times. But, in any event, here's a picture of my work. I did not copy down the patterns, but prettymuch both of them start with 3 i's, and then either a double or a triple, and then i's all the way down.
I love stringing older sticks for some reason. They are so wide that you can really tug down hard as you can to get a tight channel that would pinch illegally in a head made today. Kind of an added challenge when carrying the ball, but I think that this along with the fact that older heads are a bit heavier than newer ones makes this a perfect training tool. Wallball and shooting practice, maybe some groundballs with an old-ish head will make it all easier when you're playing in a game with a lighter one. Just my 2 cents. More posts to come.
A Professor.
This is a white STX Professor head, strung with some type of Iroquois top string, or some variant of that. I'm not sure what its name is, so if anyone out there knows please tell me. It's got this stuff called Tacmesh... yes, you heard me, "Tack-Mesh". It is an up-and-coming type of waxed mesh, created by my good friend and co-founder of Navy Gold Lacrosse, J V. It's got the teeniest, tiniest amount of lip when you shoot or throw a hard pass which gives me tingles every time. I love everything about this head, and I'm loving the mesh as well.
Anyway, I like this one a lot. After this season I'm using it in any pickup games or indoor lacrosse I can participate in before deployment. ugh... it's coming too soon, but we'll get to that later.
Will edit later and provide the channel pic.

Navy Gold Edition Brine Clutch
This head was a lot of fun to string. For one, it's a Clutch, and any of you that string know how great Brine Clutch heads are. TONS and TONS of sidewall holes, creating jillions of possibilities. But even better than that, this head was dyed by my buddy Jeremy, the guy I founded the Navy Gold Lacrosse team with. He dyed this for me so that I could string it up and then give it away in a raffle at our first game this season. Huge success, it was. I personally think it turned out pretty well, but it might just be the great lighting in this picture. Maybe it's a little of both.
I strung this one up with whoever might win it in mind. By default, I string heads with moderate hold and almost no whip, just cuz you never know. The guy who won it is another member of the team and he says he hasn't had to change a thing, which is quite flattering.
Not sure of the pattern. I know that it's a 10D topstring.
Props again to JV [Jeremy] for dying this, it turned out perfect.

Strung a few while I was on duty.
Standing duty on the ship, there isn't too much to do. There's tv to watch, and facebook to read, that's about it. Most people bring in a good book or a stack of magazines to pass the time. I found that 3 heads, some mesh, and a spool of sidewall string make for a much more exciting duty day.
Stringing lacrosse heads, 'spoons' is one of the few things that I can do to escape the hectic environment I work in. I just slip in my headphones and go to town. An empty lacrosse head means endless possibilities, it's a blank canvas and my mesh and strings are brushes and paint. The best part of it all is, if it doesn't turn out well, you can undo it and start all over again. Not very often that you get to back and fix your mistakes.
Now, onto the patterns...
Warrior Piranha [blk]: 3rd hole down is where I started, k, k, 1i, 1, 3, 1 TO.
STX Professor [blu]: 3rd hole down started, k, skip, 9 Diamond si, si, 1i, 2, i, skip, i TO.
STX Proton Power [purp]: 2nd hole down started, k, k, 1i, 3i, 2, 1, TO.
